With Alone season 6 just a few days away, many folks are searching for info on the new contestants, watching sneak peeks, and generally getting amped up for the show! I don’t know about you, but personally I’m HYPED! Haha! Anywho, since I enjoy seeing what others think about the show, I figured I’d share them with you. There are a few key websites online that are the best for getting info about the show.
#1 – The Alone Series Facebook Group
If you’re looking for just one place to check – definitely join this Facebook group. It’s well moderated and a lot of the contestants from the current and past Alone seasons are in the group too! It’s a great place to actually ask people questions and get a good answer. Moderators and other fans also post articles and other social media posts from the contestants if you want to keep up with them but don’t follow them all individually online. Don’t join this group if you’re looking to bash the show – no trolls allowed.
#2 – Twitter using #AloneShow
Twitter is an interesting place, but if you’re looking for any and all commentary on the show, it’s kinda the wild west of commentary about the show. It’s not moderated of course, so there’s no spoiler alerts, people blocking trolls, etc., so proceed at your own risk. It’s a lot of fun though when the episodes are actually live, because lots of folks live tweet as their watching the show. (IMPORTANT NOTE: The folks on the east coast see the show first, so don’t log into twitter if you’re a west coaster looking to avoid spoilers until you’ve seen the show!!)
#3 – Reddit – r/AloneTV
Reddit is a popular place to discuss pretty much anything. There is a subreddit just for the Alone show, so if you’re interested in some spirited discussion, tune in there. A small selection of the past contestants are on there, some also are just lurking. The discussion tends to be a bit more controversial and more debates happen there, as it’s moderated, but not nearly as heavily as the Facebook group.
#4 – BushcraftUSA
BushcraftUSA is a bushcraft specific forum, so the primary discussion on their website has to do with bushcraft. It’s a small, tight community of super awesome folks. There is usually always a thread for each season of Alone, since the subject of the show overlaps with the interests of those on BushcraftUSA. Most of the discussion here is focus on the actual survival/bushcrafty components of the show vs. drama and other things. If you haven’t checked out the site in general, but want to learn cool new skills, join just for the vast amount of amazing knowledge on that site.
#5 – Personal Social Media Accounts of the Contestants
One of the best ways to get awesome information about the Alone show is to follow the personal social media accounts of the contestants who were actually on the show. They are all amazing people! Some of them are more active than others online, but I’ve compiled lists of each season on my website so that you can find them easily. Click on the links here to find your favorite contestants: Season 6, Season 5, Season 4, Season 3, Season 1&2.
And that’s all for today! Thank you for reading and don’t forget – season 6 airs on June 6th!
Thanks Airyca & Pict. I have seen every season & am looking forward to season 6. I am surprised that InstaGram is not being used. I am wondering if anyone loses their ferro Rod this season. MadrasMark/aka/ MidOregon Mark
