Welcome to the public page for Dave McIntyre, Season 2 Winner of History Channel’s ALONE show. The show follows Dave and 9 other contestants, dropped separately in the remote wilderness of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With only 10 items in their packs, they attempt to survive the frigid conditions, living off the land, and self-documenting the adventure. It was an extreme test of survival, a solo challenge of starvation and isolation facing the onset of the island’s wet and windy winter.
Dave was the last man standing among the ten contestants, refusing to “tap out”. His oldest daughter, Erin, surprised him in his camp during a medical check on day 66, telling him, “You did it!”
Dave attributes his perseverance and determination to win to the lessons of God’s faithfulness during fifteen years as a church planning missionary in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. “I was never alone out there. I knew He was with me and taking care of me.” After a rapid initial weight loss, Dave managed to achieve stability and even gain weight toward the end of his time in the wilderness.
He now writes and speaks about his experience of faith and perseverance at churches, conferences, and schools around the country. To ask him to come speak at your event, please CLICK HERE
Post apocalyptic fiction series

As the author of The Fall, a post-apocalyptic fiction series, Dave combines his interest in wilderness survival, firearms, and small unit tactics, with his love of people and the human condition to create compelling characters and story lines. If your personal apocalypse doesn’t bring out your personal best, you won’t survive. Rather than becoming animals, Dave’s characters explore what it means to be fully human.
Dave loves the post-apocalyptic genre and wrote The Fall in response to everything that bothered him in the typical zombie story. With a fresh twist on the zombie apocalypse, rather than becoming part of the weather, the “zombies” become part of the cast. The plot and action cut as close to the line of reality as the genre allows. The premise is frighteningly plausible and the well-developed characters are free to pursue any option.
